Recognizing the help it has received from the private sector, the Armed Forces of the Philippines officially launched the 2nd iteration of its Multi-Sectoral Governance councillor MSGC last September 28, 2016.
Tasked with being the watchdogs and support group of the AFP, the 2nd group of MSGC consisted of both old members and new ones who believed that the AFP’s ongoing transformation effort is something truly worth supporting.
Attended by none other than the General Ricardo R Visaya, Chief of Staff, AFP along with select members of the Joint, Personal, and Special Staff and the AFP Strategy Management Committee, the AFP recognized the efforts of those that composed the original MSGC and thanked them for their unyielding services during their term and wished those that comprised the new council to be able to further the achievements of those that came before them. The event ended with formal swearing in of the MSGC members who have committed their time voluntarily to assist the AFP in improving itself and assist it in achieving its vision of becoming “A World-class Armed Forces, Source of national Pride by 2028.”
Managed by the Office for Strategic Studies and Strategy Management, the focus group discussion sailed smoothly throughout the day. With the AFP Strategy Management Committee composed of the executive officers of the j-staff discussing what they felt were the good traits about the AFP’s strategy management office as well as points to improve on.
The AFP SMC was soon followed by select civilian employees and enlisted personnel who did the same.
